Academic and Career Planning, or ACP, is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills. At each grade level, students are given the opportunity to reflect on these components with a variety of exploration activities within PHS course curriculum, PEP Talks, and the completion of their Academic and Career Portfolio.
Throughout their time at PHS, students will dive into four elements of Academic and Career Planning: Know, Explore, Plan, and Go. Each of these serves a purpose as students cultivate their pathway to post-secondary success. There should be attention given to each of the four elements each year of high school, and the ACP curriculum allows for that. Academic and Career Planning is a vital piece for all students, regardless of their post-secondary pathway, to become college, career, and life ready. All of this encompasses the mission of PHS: Become your best!
